Drive Train

Here's what the motor looked like when I got it. The inside looked even worse. So I took it to American Cycle Fabrication in Berwick, PA for a rebuild.

This is what it looked like when I got it back. It got the full treatment: 4 5/8 balanced stroker flywheels, 20 over stroker pistons, cylinders relieved, numerous modifications to the cases, UL intake, rebuilt Linkert carb, and a Fairbanks magneto. The trans looked good so I cleaned it thoroughly. I found a roof nail inside.
I'm using the rocker clutch pedal and a jockey shift. It took some getting used to but it's really fun now. The 27 tooth engine sprocket is just too slow for highway driving so it will be replaced with a 33 tooth. The motor has plenty of power and low end torque for it. I'm running an open primary till I get the dings hammered out of the cover and paint it black. I also replaced the clutch hub ball bearings with the roller type.
